pretty much went with origional ideas, though the designs changed a bit due to my coding limitations.

heres the new initial opening page, a bit more fluid than the last one, diferent orange though which i'll have to work on, also not the font i want, but at least you get the layout

and the expanded view of the page, in this case the gallery, or the begginnings of, which i shall use lightbox for.

although i'd like to make the 4 squares smaller.

Buttons

Hello again

So Kah said about 10 minutes ago that some people haven't been posting so I thought i'd drop a line. let you know whats going on etc.

so i've carried on learning to code, sorted out some ideas of what I want to happen, sorted out my colour scheme, decided to use a bit of flash for this site (yay?) written a hell of a lot down in my notebook, messed about a lot. at the moment i think i'd be comfortable in designing a wesite similar to the layout of a microsoft word document, and now i'm getting quite interested in this whole fluid layout thing shown this morning.

I've also been having trouble getting internet at home which doesn't help so if anyone has.... scrap that, just sorted out that problem, making this paragraph completely useless...

Alrighty then, 3 hours later, I've browsed around and come up with my idea of a moodboard, and here it is in small size without any of the physical stuff i'll add to it tonight, so here for your viewing pleasure is the base of my site, step 1, my personal big bang:

and I've already figured out what to put on it when i get home tonight, I've got a few sentimental bracelets (i like accessories). i suppose this pic requires explanation as well, so here you go, I play guitar (not very well any more, but i did get to grade 7 once upon a time), Marleys song 3 little birds has led me to my current motto of "no worries" my longboard is my most used form of transport, the 2 project photos represent my chosen career, the speaker that i love music, my weird obsession with eyes is in there too, along with my highschool nickname of vacant (apparently i daydream)

now on to colour schemes, I thought for a while of what i should do and went with blue for a bit... decided on black.... changed it to white, realised how cliche I was being so I'm going with Navy and orange now. a nice deep strong orange and a blue thats almost black, could go on either a white or black background, font on the blue will be white and orange will be black. you want an idea of the colours? here you go:

Right.... In the beginning

Ok, so first try at a blog and go figure its for a uni project, so without uni this would not exist and you would probably be doing something more productive with your time than read as I ramble on about things I have barely any idea about. but thank you for taking an interest at least.

now lets try an explaination

MDDN201 Dynamic web design is a 200-level course at Vic uni in this marvelous year of 2010. the chinese year of the Tiger (lucky kids, I got stuck with year of the horse, and the only thing i remember from horseriding is a really fucking sore arse afterwards) this year Steingrímur Hermannsson the 19th president of Iceland died, the final space shuttle launch is planned for this year, and I started writing this blog.

Kinda nifty right (yeah, thats right, nifty, whatyougunnado?) though I have no idea what it is, looks like a webpage version of cooliris. Not what i intend my site to look like, but we shall see. elements of cooliris may just come through.

so i've left this entry unchanged, defaults all the way, this will hopefully change, in fact it probably will, i'll also link some of my favourite sites to it when i can be bothered, though at the moment i'm apparently meant to make up a moodboard for my new site (which doesn't exist) so i'll go work on that for a bit. in the meantime, think about it, it you were to show yourself off on the web, or if you already are, try looking at your blogs and sites (or imagining them) how others would see it, I'm reading back over this entry and thinking "this is really dumb" but y'know, i think it'll grow on me.
